You're right. I might not be good to run a blog. I don't have any constancy in updating the page. I might got bored of it. I do not have time for it. I run a store, I play in two different bands. With one of them I'm practicing hard to make the third album as soon as possible. With the second one I'm doing the same, but for the very first album. This takes a lot of time and a lot of thoughts passing through the mind. And last one....girls, you know!!!
You gotta bear with myself. Some time you tape thecolorbabyblue in the navigation bar and maybe you will find some new things...bullshit, most of the times.

Well, I decided to not take and show picture of street stylish people from now on. Instead I will try to use the camera such as a tool to make you see what I see. Often it occurs that I find myself staring at people not being aware that I might make them uncomfortable and draw them in an awkward feeling. Yesterday I went to an exhibition held by the UCLA students majoring in art studio. It was in collaboration with the Accademia delle Belle Arti of Florence.

As soon as I saw Lauren how couldn't I take a picture of her and put it on the blog? Even if this would've been the third time she ended up here. She is simply marvelous as usual, precisely.... the most marvelous dork I've ever met. So Chic? I love you Lauren

Then I ran into Little Sarah and I asked her which one was her painting. She showed me the artwork and I said.... "sure this is yours. It is so little Sarah". You look and see how perfectly they match together.

I ran into this "confused" girl crossing over on one of the bridges of Florence. She was like Alice in wonderland chasing the white rabbit. It's been pretty weird what occurred in that moment. I think she was in a hurry, but she seemed she wasn't annoyed by my request and she kept saying: "ok, ok". Eventually, when I told her the name of the blog, she said: "ok", and went back chasing the rabbit which, at that point I guess, was way far from there.

I don't remember her name, but she's from England and someone told me that she is a hairdresser. Well, I hope I see u again Alice.

It was last Saturday and we went to hell which can be scary sometimes, but we were a really happy bunch of friends, so at the end everything worked out and we were able to ward off all the demons.
Before getting in, we were chatting in the parking lot and there was a yellow light surrounding us.

Among my friends there was also Joanne....mmm....ok, perhaps someone would recognize this girl, but I won't give u any clues. Joanne always wanted to be in this AWESOME blog and I can really say that this time she's deserved to be in this AWESOME blog. Maybe the yellow light disturbed the real color of the outfit. She was wearing a well made pale purple coat and also...well what can I say about the knee-high socks and her gold flats? Let's see.

I was at the store the other day and I saw two guys passing by the window. What should I have done?
I mean, usually I would have taken pictures of them....yes, I would. So that's what I did.
In that moment I stopped thinking and I pull out my camera and eventually I rushed out of the store asking the ritual question.

This is Ji from Korea, she studied at polimoda and she works as a bag designer for an accessories design company, here in Florence.
We love her "bottom outfit".

This is Daniele. As far as I understood he is her boyfriend (too bad). You see the bag? Of course. It is one of the bags she made. He works in the same company (corto moltedo) as her, but he is in the production department.

Yesterday I went out with my friends from the west cost, California precisely. First , we went to a bar to have an Aperitivo/dinner and along with us there was Britney, a friend of Joanne who's studying in a french small town. She is visiting her friend here in Florence for the weekend. Here she is:

I had a deal with Britney from San Diego: I couldn't take a picture of her if I wouldn't have taken a picture of her at the end of the night. So did I. I like her skirt.

The time was running, as well as the drinks. And Speaking of Tectonica, we ended up with a new Britney after a couple of hours. She wants to become a theater actress, perhaps in Paris. What a natty posture!!! Super dank.

Whatever...let's go ahead. We moved to the second bar and it was there that I met these two women.

First I saw Desirè. She was leaned on the edge of a table waiting for someone, I suppose. It was such a naive frame. Once I was in front of her to introduce myself I noticed that she wasn't naive at all, instead her stock was definitely high. I really liked the dress, the tights and especially the shoes. Great job. (Look, you can also see my lovely friend Joanne passing by)

I didn't tell you something though. When I asked Desirè the costumary question, she said "you want to take a picture of me? You gotta see my friend" and goddamn it she was right. The funny thing was that I knew that girl. She is the ever gorgeous Diana who works at a even more gorgeous books shop. I was astonished by her orange trench coat that perfectly matched with her tights, shoes and hair.....hell a cool!

I should take a walk around the center of Florence more often. Yesterday I recovered myself roaming around the heart of the city and there my eyes were so pleased to see the people in all their frenzy and modeling pace. Everything was so garish, plushy and fancy. Once, I was passing by the entrance of the Hotel Savoy, a super lavish hotel that jut out on Piazza della Repubblica and I noticed that someone sitting at the table of the inn's outdoor bar, resembled a known face. I walked back and I attempted to recognize the person with a quick look as discreet as I could. I was right, there she was. Hilary Swank was sipping a cocktail with a friend just a few step from here. Since I never aspired to become in a paparazzo and just glad of my first international celebrity sight I moved on my stroll.
I caught to girls with my camera. Here they are:

This is Ella, She is from Swedish and she's here in Florence to study art. She was a little bit annoyed by the fact that someone doesn't accept her wonderful glasses. Ella, your glasses are amazing you are not supposed to give a goddamn shit about the others thought.

The Rachel's

Beginning as a side-project, the experimental USA alt-rock outfit Rachel's eventually became a full-time proposition for its members, Jason Noble (guitar/bass), Christian Fredricksen (violin), and Rachel Grimes (piano). The Louisville, Kentucky, USA-based unit debuted in 1991 with a cassette-only release, Rachel's Halo, before Noble returned to his main outfit, Rodan. Their classically based, lo-fi style caught the ears of the independent scene and a recording contract with Quarterstick Records soon followed. Among their subsequent releases was a split album, 2000's Full On Night, with another experimental outfit, Matmos. With their compositions being entirely instrumental, Rachel's has landed their fair share of soundtrack work for movies and stage productions over the years, and a few of their tracks have appeared in the movies Any Given Sunday, Star Maps, My Dog Vincent, and Une Liason Pornographique. They also composed the score for the Channel 4 documentary, A Day To Remember.

They split up last year and I just wanted to pay tribute to this outstanding ensemble on this page suggesting two of their masterpieces.

Since I came back to Florence I found myself dancing in a club twice. That is weird for such a meek guy like me. The weirdest thing though was that I had fun.

First I heard from Caterina that there was a party at the upper story of the Doris. That was last weekend. You needed a wrist let to go upstairs since it was a sort of privè party. We found it and we went upstairs. From then on I spent my stay there dancing in the ladies room where there was a DJ spinning disc from seventies to nineties all rock. We were dancing in a 15-20 square meter room along with ladies trying to reach the box.

Twice a year Pitti occures in Florence and everything that happen, it happens because of Pitti. You can't even say -"wanna go out to get a drink"- that someone might reply -"sure there's Pitti"-.

Florence, my dear Florence

Finally I'm back in Florence and since I'm doing nothing because I'm on the hook for starting with my new job (I'll tell you what kind of job later) all I can do is taking picture of people and whatsoever thing I run into. That's no bad, deep down this is sort of a photo-blog.

I was at Massi's shop last days hanging out with Caterina, Catia and Massi. Sometime during the day it occurred that me and some customers struck up a conversation and eventually I took a picture. So it went:

Hometown Style

I was born in 1981 in a town named Siracusa resting on the sicilian east coast. Every morning the so-called city says hello to the sun coming out from the mediterranean sea. I grow up saying hello to the sun every morning along with my friends.

I spent my holiday in my hometown with my family and my hometown friends and there’s nothing better than that, as always.

All of my friends are not so “get into” the fashion, the style or the best outfit to wear for the event. This time though, I see something different. It wasn’t New York of course, with its perennial runway show on Bedford ave, but every day I was pulled by some friends of mine’s style.

Let’s see.

This was for Santo Stefano (yes, my name-day) which would fall on December 26th. A friend of mine organized a sort of Pic-Nic at his country house (the so-called Tenuta Tabbacco) throughout the day, arranging a barbecue and two live set in a row as well.

This is Daniela (nickname Didi). I love her, she's my best best friend. We do not see each other so often, she lives in Barcelona, Spain. Her great passions are the Photography and the sex...I suppose!

This is Eliana, she is the First Lady of the happening. She is from Catania, but she loves Siracusa.....ahahah! Hello Eliana!

I'm back, I'm in Florence and I'm writing from my room in Campo di Marte. Still my head though is stuck to beyond the ocean. Still my mind send me back to the little party I had at Gwen's house the night before my departure. That night I realized that I was going to leave some friends I didn't think to have.............eh?
Who am I? What am I talking about? Maybe I watched too many episodes of Sex and the city and I empathized with Sara Jessica Parker.

Now....jet lag! But still me....so "Style". Which one?...Charlotte's...whose style I have been attracted to. I didn't know she was in the fashion world. She's a designer and she'd like to build up her own clothing line one day. I give you my best wishes to succeed in that.

I think I had enough of NYC, I mean it's a great city, but you must have a lot of money to live it and I'm not concern about that because I'm going to be rich very soon, but this is another story.
Anyway, now I'm broke.

That Dov Charney must be a wit for building such a worldwide kingdom up in the space of few years. Besides, he's done all of that just selling t-shirts at the beginning....."I like that guy".
Now he has an entire clothing line and his own stores all around the world where to sell it.
Here in NYC there are 11 AA stores strewn between Manhattan (among which one in 5th avenue) and Brooklyn and the company is getting bigger over and over. In Italy they opened three stores in three different cities within only a year.
I always liked the small independent clothing store, but I can not deny that I enjoy to go in the Mr. Charney stores. I think they made up an outstanding and innovative way to be present in the retail field. Whatever, I just wanted to show you some pictures that I took during this time spent here.

....and this is Shannon, I had a little talk with her. She works as the assistant manager in an American Apparel store here in Brooklyn. She looks very nice in her short shorts and black socks. It was great to meet you Shannon.

A Saturday along 5th avenue

Hi guys, I know I have been a little bit absent in the last days. But I have so much stuff to do.
Anyway, yesterday was Saturday and I found the time to wander along 5th avenue in Manhattan. My girlfriend had to buy a pair of shoes. She ended up to take three new pairs of shoes home. She needed shoes for day-to-day wear, no heels (she already has enough heels).
These are the three.

The first one: BC footwear/coast to coast - half off $39,90

the second one: Converse/ct slip - $19,90

The third one: Hush puppies - $139,00

TOTAL: $178,85

In the shoes store in SoHo, while she was trying the items, I was taking some pictures.

Then we walked up for the Avenue and I found a really cool vintage store called Cheap Jack's vintage clothing at the intersection with 31st. Usually I'm not a fan of the vintage clothing stores but I went in (photo were not allowed) and I noticed that I was in a REAL vintage clothing store. The space is huge and only God knows all the goods you can find in there. The tags in each item indicate the year it was made. I got a 60's short sleeves shirt and I took off .

Then we went to MACY'S and we saw this:

So, I decided to take a walk in Soho, Manhattan yesterday and in particular I was attracted by Mott st. where I knew there were a bunch of interesting clothing stores.
I can say it's a really nice street with trees dividing the concrete from the sidewalk and above all not tainted by the cars...almost.
Apparently all the stores that I passed by are those sort of stores where you can find only independent brands and items that came out from emerging designers. I glanced at all of the shop windows and I went in just two stores which I have been smitten by.

You have to go downstairs to find yourself in a space where every item for sale and the objects along with the furniture conveyed the pure essence of the art and design. The atmosphere is that of the art gallery with the difference that there it is possible to try the pieces of artwork on.
It's kind of expensive, but if you are around Mott st. you gotta have a look at this concept store and then maybe you will realize if pulling out that money from your wallet is worth it. If you are not nearby just go on the website, you will find several interesting surprises.

This place is kind of a High Fashion clothing store: the interior, the arrangement of the space, the attention toward the minimalism in the decor and the white as main color for the walls and the ceiling. If you look closely at the tags of the goods though, you will notice that will be hard to find any names that sound familiar. As you can read from the website the intent of this unique boutique is to offer pieces of art created by emerging designers coming from all over the world "selected for their attention to design, quality and craftsmanship". The style of the collections sold in this store is that of a "young woman who wants to look hip as well as professional".
When I went in I met the owner who didn't seems so happy about my presence and my request to take some pictures for the blog. She looks suspicious toward me, but I think I can perfectly understand her....I mean, All I do is show up there, wandering by the shelves with a sketchy look and I introduce myself without any cards, just saying, "Hi, I have a blog, can I take some pictures of your store?......I think I need to figure out a new way of approach

At the NYC Marathon

I didn't know it, but the Marathon ran on the street where I live. I took some pictures yesterday along the path of the event. Mostly the pictures are of the runners whose style I do not think you will care about. There were a few people on the edge of the street that deserved to be photographed.

Here is David. He was eating a sandwich while I asked for a picture and he acted as though he's asked for pictures on the street all the time....He was like:- oh god, here's another one!-. But he was cool.

A walk through Halloween

Yesterday was Halloween and as soon as we stepped out of the front door we saw all these kids dressed up running all over the sidewalk seeking their sweets. They were gathered in bunches or tended by parents. They went in the stores, they knocked on the front doors and they stopped people on the their way. They said "Trick or treat". Once I took a quick look at their candy-basket...guys, it was full, it was totally full of every kind of wrapped little sweets. That thing weight at least 3-4 Kg (about 6-7 pounds). Then, people wonder why here there's a problem of obesity since childhood. For chrissake, how are children supposed to not become the fattest children in the world with 7 pounds of treats ready to be ate?
And this was my criticism for this month. Now, let's change over to some pictures I took for the event. Actually I couldn't take so many because of my camera whose battery was dying.

Alter Clothing Store

I just wanted to point out a clothing store named ALTER which I found really interesting.
They are at 109 Franklyn street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It's a small store but you can find everything you need to make your look great.
You'll find Cheapmonday, Kitchen orange, Kill city, SChmove Jamaica Derby, This old thing?.....they have marvelous dresses for women and rings, necklaces, bags and every kind of accessories.

Into the Music

So, here it goes.

We (me and my assistant) had to meet Allison and Olga at the subway stop of Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. Initially the plan was to go to some party nearby. I think that would have been one of those hipster parties in a super cool loft with a lot of those red and blue colored plastic cups filled with any kind of alcohol.
In the end, we didn't go there.
We were standing on the sidewalk for a while still thinking about what to do. I enjoyed staying there though, I could take a lot of picture of people passing by us.

We found out there was a concert by calling a friend who was going there. Let's walk over there.
We got to a kind of industrial neighborhood by the coast in a street surrounded by huge fenced in warehouses.
Here a weird sign in one of the building we passed by along the way:

On that street we would see around several vans parked right in front of a small door stuck in the wall of one the warehouses. There were a few people hanging around over there.
Ok, we got it, here was the concert. So we asked the bouncer what it was about in there. He said there were seven bands playing in a row and that the cost of admission was from $7 to $12 - that means that you were willing to pay or $7 or up, I would shrug -, that was pretty good, I mean seven bands in just one night.
At that point we would wait for our friend Evan before coming in and since we could stay right in front of the door because of the whiny bouncer, we would step down the street till next cross street. There we met Evan with other two friend who said that the concert wasn't there, but right behind the corner. So there were two venues hosting two different events in a range of 100 feet.
We would join a bunch of people in front of these two small doors from which the music was coming out. We would get the wrong door again, our concert was next door.
Now there were three different venues hosting three different shows in a range of 100 feet.
From then on I would spend all my time going back and forth from one room to the other.

There was a main room with the stage and the bar and a couple of small rooms which looked like this:

This was the next door. It was kind of a loft, an open space where there was a whole kitchen by one of the walls of the room and a couch at the bottom where a couple was playing....and also a dog.

After this first couple finished, another couple would start to settle for its live set.
Here one of the girls from the second one. Her name is Chiara and she's originally from a small town between Florence and Siena.

Well Guys, it seems I had a fucking awesome night and I definitely fell in love with this fucking city.

I caught him at Union Square in Manhattan. He was speaking on the phone and when I asked him if I could take a picture, he said to his phone interlocutor that he had to be photographed and he immediately hung up.

This is a slice of lifestyle in Greenpoint (Brooklyn).

Yesterday, I had a delicious dinner (well, too many vegetablas for me, but it was ok) at Allison and Adena's house. They had wine (I do not drink wine), they had beer (I do not drink beer) and a cake.....this cake

Guys, I wasn't drunk and I wasn't stoned, but the company was great and I had a lot of fun.

Hello boys and girls. Today I was our blogger's assistant as we went around Green Point, Brooklyn looking for out-there threads. Since it was sunny, lots of ladies were rocking short baby-doll like dresses, and the guys had their tried and true hipster gear on: ratty t-shirts, tight jeans, and of course, ray bans wayfarer. Some of these Saturday strollers were open about having their pictures taken--some acted as if they had been expecting us all day, why wouldn't you want to take my picture? While others passed us right by--wayyyy too hip to be photographed for their hipness. That's fine, some people need to always feel ahead of the curve. But for those of you who did pose for us, thank you!

Thank you, assistant. Before taking a look at the outfits of the day, I wanted to say the street Bedford Avenue in williamsburg, is a nonstop runway show.

You guys, let me tell you. I need an assistant to help me take the pictures of all these stylish people I run in to. In this city it can be a full time job.
Today I took my first walk around Williamsbourgh (Brooklyn) with my camera and I couldn't be distracted even for a second that someone with an incredible look was passing by me.
I met three girls who look great let's take a look at them.

This is Nancy. When I asked her if I could take a picture of her, she responded to me she was not dressed well enough to ended up on a streetstyle blog...... I wonder how she looks when she'd like to.....

I did it. I'm here in New York City, the Fucking City.

I'm going to spend two months here and I'm going to catch a lot of super cool looks all around the city, mostly in Brooklyn though.
Yes, in Brooklyn, that's where I will live for the next two months.

My neighborhood is not as "cool" as Williamsbourgh or Green point where the people are mostly students. My neighborhood is another type. That one with all those black guys hanging out in a crew at the corner of a cross street.

They are rappers (or gangsta....I don't know) rapper such as those ones from those american hip hop movies, but they are real, they are the heart of this city.
They wear all these baggy pants with nike shoes and oversize t-shirts and of course the NY Yankies hat on. The fact that attracted me is that all this stuff seems just came out from the store, they got no spots at all, they seem always as new, especially the shoes and the hats. It seems a very expensive outfit. Sometime someone arrives with his 30 foot long luxury car with those shiny golden rims. I don't know about these latter, but the other ones seem not to have as much money as they show.

Well guys I hope to take a bunch of pictures of my neighborhood along with its inhabitants as soon as possible in order to make you better understand what I'm talking about.

Hi Guys, I want to show you some pictures from the backstage of the photo-shoot we made at Societè Anonyme, a concept clothing store here in Downtown Florence.

It was yesterday and we have had such great time with all the guys who were there.
For this thing, we were two young stylists under the supervision of Massi the "boss" of the store, two models, one photographer, a lot of friends and the people who came in captured by the "happening".

We will present the photo-shoot as an exhibition in december at the store.
We hope to post the completed photo-shoot as soon as possible.

Yes, we have the same blog on splinder.com, we're changing over to this host. We had a hard time posting our stylish pictures since we didn't have so much space for those.

We are two guys who like to walk around the city, mostly in downtown Florence (our city), tryng to catch with our camera everything that is style and fucking cool. That's it.
